Experience Imago’s Four Journeys — where depth, embodiment, and community meet
International Imago Conference · Bornholm 2026 – Denmark
This year, our shared theme is The Four Journeys — the four lenses that shape the heart of Imago.
We invite you into four transformative days on the island of Bornholm, where this theme will guide and frame everything we explore together.
Here, theory, practice, and embodied learning merge into an experience that strengthens you as a therapist — and elevates the community we all belong to..
Who is this conference for?
For Imago therapists, facilitators, educators, supervisors and trainees who want to deepen their presence, refine their therapeutic interventions, and reconnect with the global Imago community.
If you long for inspiration, renewal, and a profound sense of belonging among colleagues who share your passion, this conference is for you.
The conference will be held in English
Why the Four Journeys?
Because they form the foundation of the entire Imago framework.
And because these four perspectives — the cosmic, the evolutionary, the psychological, and the social — offer the depth and clarity that make Imago work so powerful.
When we work with the Four Journeys, we refine our professional compass.
We become clearer, more attuned, more grounded in ourselves, and more precise in how we navigate the relational field.
This theme was not chosen lightly — it was chosen because it strengthens everything we stand on as therapists and facilitators.
At this conference, the Four Journeys come alive
Not as theory alone, but as something you can feel, explore, and integrate directly into your practice.
Through keynote teachings, workshops, embodiment sessions, and shared learning spaces, we create an experience in which knowledge becomes embodied — where inspiration transforms into competence.
What to expect
-
Professional immersion in the four foundational Imago perspectives
-
Embodied methods you can apply directly in your work
-
Strengthened self-regulation and deeper therapeutic presence
-
A global Imago community gathered in one place
-
Days filled with learning, movement, connection, and renewed energy
The Four Journeys — in brief
- The Cosmic Journey. Where we reconnect with the larger story: our belonging to the universe, the meaning of relationships in the grand unfolding, and the deeper purpose behind the work we do.
- The Evolutionary Journey . Where we explore the ancient wiring of the brain, inherited patterns, and the biological and cultural evolution that shapes how humans love, bond, protect, and repair.
- The Psychological Journey. Where we dive into the inner landscape — the wounds, imprints, strengths, and longings that each person carries — and transform them into presence, aliveness, and relational competence.
- The Social Journey. Where we remember that the relational paradigm is bigger than the couple. It is a path toward community, inclusion, belonging, and a more connected world.
A conference that touches both the professional and ‘the person of the therapist’
Mornings bring you solid academic learning through keynotes.
Afternoons give you practice, embodiment, and integration.
And everything in between invites connection, collegiality, joy, and inspiration.
A conference created for those who want to deepen their professional capacity, expand their perspective, and take their Imago work to the next level.

You’ll experience the joy of community, the feeling of belonging, and the rare gift of being deeply understood. You will also feel the power of a global movement devoted to healing relationships and transforming the world through dialogue.
Amidst all of this connection, inspiration, and shared humanity, you’ll also learn how to refine your interventions, amplify connection, and work with couples in ways that are increasingly grounded, attuned, and alive.

How does our work change when we dare to place relationships within a larger context?
This workshop invites you into the cosmic dimension of Imago work, where meaning, purpose, and belonging come into focus. Through experiential exercises, reflection, and dialogue, we explore how a larger perspective can be embodied and brought into the therapeutic space.
You will leave with a deeper inner grounding, an expanded sense of perspective, and concrete ways to support clients in finding meaning and coherence within their relational challenges.
Location: The Venue, Fabers
13:00 – 14:30 Lunch break
14:30 – 16:45 – Workshop – The Evolutionary Journey
Workshoppresenter: John Hjarsø Mortensen
What if relational reactions are not problems — but intelligence?
In this workshop, we work directly with the nervous system, attachment, and our evolutionary inheritance. You will have the opportunity to both understand and feel how ancient survival patterns continue to shape relationships today — and how this knowledge can be translated into precise and effective therapeutic interventions.
The workshop offers practical tools, increased somatic regulation, and a sharpened capacity to work with intensity, reactivity, and repair in the therapeutic space.
Coffeebreak will be included
Location: The Venue, Fabers
18:00 – 19:30
Dinner at your choosing with Imago-friends or on your own. We will have options to present.
19:30 – 23:00 Fun Tango and danceevent
With Helle Mikkelsen and Tomas Burvall
Argentine tango and Imago share a common language — a bodily, relational language where contact, attention, and mutual regulation are at the center. Tango is a living dialogue between two people. It invites us into an experience of leading and following, giving and receiving, listening and responding — not with words, but with the whole body.
Just as in Imago work, the dance emerges in the space between us, in the subtle attunement where presence and clarity coexist.
Tango becomes a bodily learning space for relational awareness — where relational theory is allowed to come alive, become sensory, and integrate into the body.
No previous dance experience is required. What matters most is curiosity and a willingness to meet both yourself and the other in movement. Tango here is not a performance, but an invitation — to contact, play, depth, and connection.
After the tango, music from the 1980s will set the frame for the final part of the evening, opening the space for dance, playfulness, spontaneity, and laughter.
Let your inner, hidden — or perhaps long-forgotten — parts step into the light and dance along.
We begin at 7:30 pm with tango (approximately one hour of teaching), after which the evening flows freely, and you are welcome to leave whenever your dancing feet have had enough.
Location: Allinge skole, Kearnehuset, Kirkeplads 2

9:00 – 10:00 KEYNOTE: Psycological journey & The Social Journey
Keynote speaker: Maya Kollman
Location: The Venue, Fabers
Workshoppresenter: Maya Kollman
True transformation begins in the inner landscape.
This workshop dives into the psychological journey, exploring inner patterns, wounds, longings, and resources — in both clients and therapists. Through experiential processes, you are invited to integrate psychological insight in a way that strengthens presence, authenticity, and contact.
The workshop supports both personal transformation and professional deepening, strengthening the person of the therapist as the primary instrument in the work.

18:30 – Dinner & garden party
As only Imagoans can party, we will dance, laugh eat and have as deep or fun conversations as we want.
This year the garden party will take place in the beautiful Klostergaarden garden.
We will have the entire hotel-garden to ourselves and we have already been promised that we can make as much noice as we want without bothering anyone.
There will be dinner, for both vegetarians, vegans and carnivores.
And, we will have the huge pleasure of a very special and rare guest, Elvis, the King himself (aka the amazing John Hjarsoe Mortensen).
The party of the summer 2026 that you don’t want to miss!

Where will you stay?
Allinge Village & Klostergaarden
Accommodation on Bornholm
For this year’s conference, we have booked the entire Hotel Klostergården in Allinge — a charming, historic hotel with its own garden, quiet corners, and the unique atmosphere of an old monastery courtyard.
Many of us will be staying here, and it is also where we will gather for Saturday evening’s garden party.
The conference program itself will not take place at the hotel, but in the nearby venue – FABERS – just a short walk away. This makes it easy to move between sessions, community time, and your room.
The special experience of staying at Klostergården
There is something truly unique that happens when we all stay under the same roof. Because we have rented the entire hotel, we warmly encourage participants to stay at Klostergården — both to make the most of the beautiful surroundings and to deepen the sense of connection throughout the conference.
Sharing breakfast in the garden, meeting over a morning coffee in the courtyard, or pausing together between sessions creates a warmth and togetherness that is hard to replicate elsewhere.
You are, of course, completely free to choose your own accommodation — but we would love to have you with us at Klostergården, where the closeness from morning to evening becomes part of the conference experience.
Freedom to choose
Accommodation at Hotel Klostergården is not included in the conference fee. You book and pay for your stay yourself, giving you full freedom to choose where you’d like to stay.
Hotel Klostergården offers a limited number of rooms:
Both single and double rooms are available, each with their own unique charm. As we have rented the entire hotel for the conference days, rooms will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
If you wish to stay at Klostergården, we recommend booking early to secure your preferred room type.
Under ‘Other places to stay’ below, you will find links to other accomodation-options, including:

No matter where you stay, you are part of the community — but we hope many will join us at Klostergården and share the cozy moments that make the conference feel especially warm and connected.
